Another great event!

On Friday 23rd July, we had another chance to meet local community groups in Bexley. Bexley Voluntary Service Council held its networking event for Small Groups in Bexley's Civic Offices and we were invited along to introduce Bexley Talks, talk about the izwe network, and online citizen engagement.

We also had the chance to listen to presentations and updates from Bexley Health Trainers,Bexley Integrated Youth Service and from Volunteering London.

The presentations and discussions we held in the room confirmed, once more, that there is excellent work on the ground in Bexley. We were humbled by the experience and drive of local people who are taking projects forward, often with small amounts of resources and giving up their time to run them.

The presentation of Bexley Talks.com provoked much interest among the participants on matters of privacy, data protection and accountability of public institutions. It was a great opportunity, as always, to see how people perceive the izwe network, the BexleyTalks website and to hear their ideas on how to take the platform forward, apply it to the work they are doing and suggest other possible uses.

We are still in early stages of our project with the Bexley community, and we are always happy to meet more people and see how Bexley Talks can be useful to you.

Were you at the event? What were your thoughts? Do you have any ideas for how to use Bexley Talks for your work around the community?
